Striking nurses and midwives at the Ridge hospital have begun attending to patients, following payment arrangement between the nurses and management of the hospital.
The nurses had earlier yesterday embark on a strike action to register their displeasure against the non-payment of their March salaries by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department.
It is reported that Salaries of the nurses were not paid as a result of an anomalies caused through the introduction of an electronic payroll system by the Accountant General’s Department.
The nurses however, resolved to a nonattendance to patient at the Out Patient Department (OPD) except emergency cases only and threatened not to come back to work until their anomalies were rectified.
However, Ghanahospitals.org can confirm that nurses at the Ridge Hospital have now reported back to duty after their having their grievances rectified by management of the hospital.
