Three Assemblies from the southern part of the Volta Region would see significant improvement in the health sector from a six billion US dollar loan facility from the Korean Axim Bank.
The Member of Parliament for Keta Mr. Richard Quashigah disclosed this to the media when he presented three patient monitors to the Keta Municipal Hospital.
“Before we rose as parliament we had approved this, and the first tranche of the Korean Axim Bank facility of 6 million dollars is to benefit two Municipalities and a district assembly from the southern part to help uplift the health sector”, he stated.
“I believe strongly that that is an amount that would go to a large extent to uplift health issues in the three assemblies”, the MP stated.
Beneficiary assemblies according to Mr. Richard Quashigah would include Keta and Ketu South Municipalities as well as Ketu North District Assembly.

Meanwhile, staff of the Keta Municipal Hospital have called for the provision of more accommodation for staff. They argued that achievements made so far in the hospital may crumble if problem of staff accommodation is not addressed because soon people may find it difficult to report to duty when they are posted to the hospital because of accommodation constraints.
A hospital staff who narrated her ordeals said though he was posted to the Municipal Hospital last year and was due to report o duty in September, he only started work in February 2015 because he could not get accommodation.
