The Community Group of Hospitals has inaugurated an ultra-modern hospital in Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region. 

 

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of The Community Group of Hospitals, Mr. Akwesi Acquah stated that the first phase of the hospital which cost USD3.5 M has a bed capacity of 95 with all the required units and departments working effectively.

The departments he said include Ultra-Modern Laboratory Diagnostic Unit, Maternity. Pharmacy, Theatre and Spacious Wards to mention but a few.

“As you may already be aware The Community Hospitals Group is a Limited Liability Company that operates hospitals and related ventures across the Country. We seek to establish and professionally manage Hospitals and Mortuaries especially in deprived communities across the Country”, he added.

With the above as their focus, 

 

Mr. Acquah observed that the Group has created and sustained enviable systems alongside grooming many professionals who have worked tirelessly bringing quality and affordable health care to the doorsteps of their cherished clients wherever they operate.

He said it therefore did not come as a surprise when after the inauguration of the Oda branch in 2012, the then Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith initiated a conversation with the Board of The Community Hospitals Group on the possibility of replicating our concept at Kukurantumi which did not have a hospital or alternative reliable medical centre. The conversation developed into a very serious dialogue when the chiefs of- Kukurantumi threw their weight behind this request by assisting in the acquisition of a piece of land and lending support in any way that they could.

 

He expressed his profound gratitude to the chiefs of Kukurantumi and his Excellence Mr. Victor Smith adding that what they witnessing is as a result of the effective collaboration between a private investor and "a willing" Community. 

 

“Whilst working hard to put up this structure so many issues came to our attention which cuts across politics and tradition. We have heard and smiled over most of them but distinguished ladies and gentlemen, let us not make the mistake of playing up any other issues above the human centered vision for which hospitals and especially the ones by The Community Hospitals Group are built, Honorable people Of Kukurantumi we are "Fried and Tested" believe in us that our focus is on bringing quality healthcare to your doorstep and nothing else.” 

 

Mr. Acquah said in the course of the Group’s duty, they will duty also provide job opportunities for a number of natives as they have done in other places. 

He also appealed to all to pay attention to their health needs and observed that a lot of avoidable deaths have been traced to manageable conditions like High Blood Pressure. High blood sugar etc. which eventually lead to complicated conditions if not managed well.

 

He advised the community to take advantage of the National Health Insurance Scheme since all branches of The Community Group of Hospitals ran a diabetic and hypertensive clinic which has been so beneficial to their clients who assess the facilities with NHI cards. “We need a healthy people for a healthy nation, so please let us work together on this” he added.
