Adolescents should say no to pre-marital sex | 22nd November, 2017

Efforts at helping to bring down cases of illegal abortion have received added momentum with the launch of a health education outreach programme by the “40 Days for Life Campaign”, an international NGO.

It is targeting students in senior high schools (SHS) across the Ashanti Region.

Speaking at one of such programmes held at that Agona senior high technical school in the Sekyere South District, Mr. William Boakye-Baafi, Local Coordinator of the NGO, asked that they said no to pre-marital sex.

He said that was how to avoid becoming pregnant and getting their academic dreams shattered.

It was also the way to save themselves from sexually-transmitted infections including HIV-AIDS.

He reminded them that it was in their own interest to focus on their education and refuse to become sexually involved.

They should stay away from anything that could have disastrous consequences for their future.

Mr. Boakye-Baafi talked them out of watching pornographic movies and pictures.

He added that they resisted to be pressured into early sex including same sex relationship, something he labeled “ungodly”.
